A couple of weeks ago my little sister got married at a beautiful boutique B&B in Hastings called The Old Rectory. I was a bridesmaid, along with my other younger sister, and it was the most wonderful weekend; so relaxed but super fun. The bride's 50s-style dress was made to order and featured a pretty sheer polka dot overlay while the groom wore tweed tailoring and a bow-tie. It suited them perfectly
The bridesmaid dressesAs for my sister and I, we wore navy, polka dot circle dresses from Vivienne of Holloway with big netted petticoats. In our hair we wore polka dot headbands that had been customised with hand-made paper flowers using old maps and sheet music. Our jewellery was from Accessorize, while the bride borrowed pearls from our nan for the big day.
Pretty wedding shoesOn our feet we wore some vintage-inspired Gitango T-bar heels from Georgia Rose at Sarenza. The tied into the colour theme of maps and music paper flowers beautifully. The funny thing was, we ordered a 3.5 and a 4 and ended up wearing each other's shoes all day and evening. We only noticed our mistake the following day! The bride opted for flat brogues as she's not much of a high-heel gal, but replaced the laces with ribbon for a pretty finishing touch.
This year has definitely been wedding season for me... three down, two to go.
