Sensible summer sandals for the win

Mellow Yellow nude sandals

It's summer and sandals have become my staple footwear choice. My biggest issue though is finding sandals which really are comfortable enough to wear to work. I have to bolt it down a steep hill to the station most days, so comfortable shoes are a must. My new shoe delivery from Sarenza has arrived and I love the bold neon trim contrasted against the neutral, patent upper. The shoes pictured are by Mellow Yellow which is one of my faves.

Best of all, these shoes have heel that I can last the whole day in. The sturdy block-heel is just the thing to keep me looking smart enough for the office in summer, but without leaving me in pain. If only the floods hadn't swept in this week. I'd quite like a chance to wear them.

I was very tempted by the blue and cream version below. Alas, they were not in stock when I was ordering (although they did come back in as soon as I had ordered. That's typical right?). I'm also quite partial to the courts which come in three different colourways.

What are your thoughts on the short block-heel? Work-friendly or better left to weekends?
