Part Nouveau is a site which takes contemporary fashion and traces it back to it's earlier influences. It's an interesting idea and fascinating to chart these key looks back visually, especially to the more obscure historical references. We all know that it's very hard to be truly original and this proves that age-old notion that fashion comes back around... even if it might sometimes take hundreds of years.
The name of the site means 'part new' and looks at those creative elements, such as a fashion trend, costume or a styled photo shoot, that have essentially borrowed or appropriated styles from something in the past. There are lots of great examples on the blog's Pinterest page and I've included a snapshot below of what to expect. Click through to Pinterest or visit the blog to learn more about the inspiration and the creation.
Part Nouveau was created and founded by Lilah Ramzi, former freelancer for Fashion’s Night Out and the CFDA.
