I recently had the opportunity to hang out backstage at the WGSN Global Fashion Awards, where some of the world's biggest names got together to celebrate the best in fashion and retail. The awards were hosted by Cat Deeley who was sporting a cream feather dress and white tux-style jacket by Charlie Brear, and it seemed to set the tone for the evening with many guests opting for a monochromatic palette.
You can see all the winners from the 2012 awards here.
What guests wore
Charlotte Dellal sported some striking headwear to pick up her award for accessories label Charlotte Olympia, while the lovely model Jade Parfitt was a vision in a Grecian white gown.
Hilary Alexander went for a simple LBD with statement jewellery while Lara Bohinc went for a maxi skirt, a nice twist on the conventional gown.
More black maxis were the dress of choice for fashionistas Pixie Lott and Suki Waterhouse. I love Pixie's off the shoulder number and Suki's Julien Macdonald dress was pretty stunning too.
Zara Martin's D&G dress was so gorgeous, with beading and lace giving it the ultimate glam factor. VV Brown went for an edgier mini dress and oversized blazer, although I'm not sure on the grey socks and low-heeled shoes though.
Which look is your favourite?
If you get a moment, be sure to check out WGSN's new City Edit iPad apps. We had a chance to try them out at the event and they've got handy city guides showcasing fab fashion events and places to eat and drink too.
