LFW - Marios Schwab for SS13

Every season, Marios Schwab's collection is one which I remember. The designs just fit my idea of what is truly stylish and aspirational in fashion. At the same time, statement-making pieces are balanced with wearability with a high level of craftsmanship clearly visible.

I attended the SS13 show today as a guest of LG and this collection impressed me just as much as the others before. The fine leather pleats were flawless, sheer tulle offered soft femininity, while the contrasting tribal accents like raffia fringes kept it all fresh. I adored the fringed shoes and knee-high, gladiator-style sandals. To be honest, I liked almost everything that came down the runway.

Simplicity in black and white, a theme that's run through so many collections here and in New York.

There were feminine hues in shapes cut to flatter and flaunt the female figure. Marios is a master at accentuating the curves with bust, hip and waist detailing.

These looks are pretty easy to copy, simply team a fitted knit with a leather skirt and heels. Perfect for autumn in fact, even though this collection is for next summer.

These sandals are amazing right? So much detail and I love the way the lace appears to snake up the leg.

The two outfits above were probably my favourites and the ones I would most like to wear myself.  The fringed leather on the left and flowing pleats on the right were fabulous.

The evening dresses were really something though. Shorter dresses were adorned with chains of Swarovski Elements to frame the body in a delicate harness. Other sheer dressed had hand-embroidered crystals on necklines and cuffs.

The lace detailing was exquisite and the uneven edges gave it a point of difference from other collections featuring lace this season.

All in all yet another fabulous collection, and the packed benches and applause after the show indicated that most people felt the same.
