When it comes to city breaks I tend to be on my feet from dusk 'til dawn trying to fit in as much as possible. This means comfortable shoes are a must! I've just got back from Rome and I chose a pair of Birkenstocks from Sarenza before I went. Lots of friends have raved about how comfortable they are and my favourite black Fit Flops had literally fallen apart just a few weeks beforehand.
I have to say though, they weren't quite as comfortable as I'd hoped. Well, they were pretty comfy all day but then when I put them on for the second day the arches of my feet felt the raised arch supports a bit too much. I guess they'd be a little bit better if the support wasn't solid, but a little bit softer. I do like the style though, and they'll still be great for the beach or walking around the park but perhaps not for all day-walking.
The style I opted for were the Mayari which have patent black straps, pictured above. I also think the brightly coloured styles are great though, like the yellow and red ones below.
