Certain designer brands have an iconic look or design feature that is often imitated but rarely matched. Missoni is one such label, with its statement zig-zag pattern which is synonymous with the brand. Missoni was founded in the 1950s by Ottavio and Rosita Missoni, and has become renowned for luxurious, Italian knitwear which looks and feels divine. But, as a shoe-lover, I'm of course intrigued by the footwear line which features lots more prints and patterns, along with some amazing sandals. You can just tell its roots are in Italy, with an almost over-the-top design signature which stands out a mile. Bill Cunningham once said of Missoni: 'Colours that are a revelation of natural beauty', and colour remains core to the label's aesthetic as much today as in the '70s when Bill was writing.
Sometimes I love to feel a bit extravagant, especially when it comes to bags and shoes, and these shoes feel just that. If I have to choose a favourite pair, I would definitely opt for the tassel-adorned TM35 shoe in navy, mint and cream. Imagine them worn with a cream tweed skirt and delicate silk blouse - beautiful! I also think the flat pumps are fun, but am not sure I'd be able to invest quite that much money on something that I'll probably get all soggy in London's grubby puddles.
