July was the month I went to Manchester for a girly weekend. We stayed at the Thistle in thecentre of Manchester and crammed loads into our stay. On Saturday we went to the Trafford Centre for a spot of shopping, lunch and a rather juvenile trip to Lego Discovery Land (we were the oldest there by two decades!) After some more shopping and and ice cream it was back to the hotel for a little spa visit before face masks and drinks in our room, a chines meal and a night in the tiles for cocktails. On Sunday we soothed our hangover with a sauna, swim and jacuzzi. Then it was a nice walk along the canal to a great bar we'd been recommended who were doing a BBQ lunch - yum. We popped to the Museum of Science and Industry for a little Steam Train ride (again, how old am I?) and then it was back into town for heart-shaped scones, jam, clotted cream and tea.
July was the month I saw Madonna in Hyde Park. I wwent along to celenbrate West London as part of the #iwasthere campaign run by Westfield Shopping Centres. It was an awesome show and it's easy to forget Madonna's age when she is doing such complex choreography and wearing such revealing outfits.
July was the month I helped break a world record (for the second time). Yes, I went back to Hastings and joined over 14,000 other people dressed as pirates. It was an awesome day and the busiest I have ever seen Hastings, The day was completed with an amazing Red Arrows display.
And this stuff happened too...
