The Jasper Conran collection for SS12 was, as always, simple, elegant and beautiful. But there was something fresh and new too. Slightly sportier with unrestricted shapes, wraps, ties and strapping, the colour palette featured black, white, silvery grey and some brighter hues which were described as 'geranium brights' - think hot pink and tomato red.
I think we'd all agree though, that the lasting impression was left by the fab resin detailing, especially the translucent and transparant boxy clutch and shoulder bags. I instantly put those on my mental wishlist. There were also a lot of backless garments again using those straps and resin details to add some interest. Loved the hot pants too, although all these backless and leg-baring styles are making me think I'll need a full month in a detox spa before I can wear the looks next summer. Better get to the gym at least.
Here are a few pics, or scroll down to watch the catwalk show video and see what I wore too...
Almost all my photos have the lovely Lorraine Kelly and Mark Heyes in too. Lorraine seemed pretty excited about many of the pieces as they hit the catwalk and Mark usually interviews Jasper after his show. In support of Jasper and of course Debenhams, I wore my new J by Jasper Conran red dress on Saturday with Nine West heels, my fave £2 sample sale jacket and an Aspinal of London bag
