BEAUTY - The ‘I Heart JOHNSON’S® Baby Oil’ Challenge

The ‘I Heart JOHNSON’S® Baby Oil’ Challenge

I've been set a blogger challenge, to come up with a beauty tip or look inspired by JOHNSON'S Baby Oil. If they think mine is the best I might even win a trip to Milan so if you like it please comment away!  JOHNSON'S Baby Oil has been around for over 70 years, and now over 1000 bottles are sold every day. It's popular for mums using it for their babies, but just as many women swear by it for themselves too, using it in their daily beauty routines.

I knew what my blog post would be about straight away. I've spent the last 15 minutes giving my feet the all mother of foot scrubs and they feel amazing. Summer definitely takes its toll on our feet and there are lots of ways to pamper and make them more presentable. The best thing though, is that my foot scrub has just two ingredients, both of which are cheap as chips. Read on to find out more...

1. Take some sugar and put into a bowl - white cane sugar is what I used but you can go for any granulated sugar.

2. Pour in some original Baby Oil until you've got the texture of wet sand.

3. You now have two options, I like to use a bigger bowl (which isn't used for food!) so I can just use my feet to scrub each other but you could also just sit on the edge of your bath/shower. Spend a good few minutes rubbing the feet together, paying extra attention to any dry patches or rough skin. It reminds me of being on the beach with the sand between my toes!

4. Rinse off the sugar and don't worry if some oil remains, massage it in to give feet a moisturising treat too - this quick scrub is a two in one!

I have also used this scrub on my hands. I find having my hands scrubbed or massaged really, really relaxing and the silky soft feeling afterwards reminds me of having a great manicure. For the finishing touch I was inspired by the soft pink of the original Baby Oil packaging to create a nail look. I used O.P.I's 'Isn't it romantic', a pretty pink shade and finished the tips of my nails with an old nail polish in a glittering hue called 'Candy Floss'. What do you think?

I've got plenty more ideas for how you can use Baby Oil in your beauty routine... a few drops into your bath water is perfect for silky soft skin plus the Baby Oil Gel is super handy for taming unruly eyebrows. Feel free to share your tips and beauty uses in a comment at the bottom of this post.

*I have been asked to work with the makers of JOHNSON’S® Baby Oil to try their product and blog about it.  They have sent me a free sample and the winner of the best blog as determined by a panel of judges will win a trip to Milan during Fashion Week.
