EVENT - Henley Festival With Patrón Tequila

Henley Festival with Patron Tequila

I was asked to go along to Henley Festival on Friday night with the team from Patrón tequila. Until I tried this brand I'd never found a tequila that I could enjoy but this premium tequila is in a different league. I've had it in cocktails and tried many of the different varieties and always been impressed (plus, the hangovers are pretty much non-existent). I can recommend the XO Cafe too which you can read more about on The Style PA at Home.

On Friday at Henley, Jules Holland was performing so we arrived, took in our surroundings and then headed to the floating Patrón bar to sample some cocktails. Funnily enough, while driving to Henley Jules Holland's car pulled up beside us - which at least told us we weren't going to be late. I stuck with Margharitas for the evening, a new drink choice for me but I'm a huge fan of drinks with lots of lime so it was perfect.

After some tapas nibbles we joined the lawn full of people to enjoy the music (and carry on enjoying the tequila of course). The setting is just beautiful. As it gets dark people start dancing a little more and all the while you've got boats going up and down the river with people waving to the guests on the lawn and grandstand.

When it comes to fashion at Henley Festival, the dress code is black tie. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect but I'd say people generally make the effort and it reminded me of an afternoon at Glyndebourne. Many guests kick things off off with a picnic and wine then spend the evening with great music and entertainment. I wore my Betty.Jackson Black dress as I could just wear it to work then straight out (low maintenance me!) but some were in ball gowns and fur, dressed up to the nines. I enjoyed every minute of the outfit spotting... it makes a refreshing change to see real people glam-up rather than the usual festival and celebrity style spotting.

After Jules it was back to the floating Patrón bar for fireworks and a couple more drinks before we headed back home. All in all, a lovely evening with some lovely people and I can't wait to seek out some Patrón next time I'm doing posh cocktails for the girls. In fact, my friend is having a Mexican themed birthday night out in a few weeks so that would be a fabulous way to start the evening.
