JEWELLERY - Reese Witherspoon's Huge Engagement Ring

The festive period is a popular time for engagements and Reese Witherspoon said 'Yes!' to her boyfriend of nearly a year Jim Toth’s proposal this Christmas. Forget Kate Middleton's ring which originally belonged to Princess Diana, Reese's dazzling 4 carat diamimond Engagement Ring by William Goldberg is the winner. One of the most sought after stones in the world her new Ashoka Diamond is prized for its exceptional beauty and rarity. Designed by William Goldberg, Reese’s ring is nearly 4 carats total weight with a dazzling Ashoka Diamond set on a Pave Diamond and Platinum band.

The Ashoka Diamond is truly a rare treasure with less than 10% of rough diamonds each year possessing the potential to become an Ashoka cut diamond. Cut to be visibly larger with new dimensions not seen on a more traditional cut and visibly more brilliant with 62 displayed facets and rounded corners which create a dazzling sparkle, the Ashoka is the perfect diamond.

Reese is a lucky lady indeed, although surely the thought of wearing something of that value would make any woman nervous. I've always thought the size of the diamond isn't what it's all about, personally I'd prefer something more original, perhaps an Art Deco style ring with some character.

Last summer was wedding-free for me, but a few friends and colleagues are getting married this summer and with the royal wedding planned in I think we should all prepare for lots of bride & groom talk in 2011. You won't be able to escape it.
