HAIR - Aussie 'Take the Heat' Styling Products

Using Aussie Take The Heat range

Aussie sent over some of their 'Take the Heat' styling products for me to try out.I'm off to an event with them on Friday night and we've been challenged to come up with our best style using the range of heat-activated products. I tend to be quite low maintenance when it comes to styling my hair... simply running the straighteners through them is as far as I usually go. This time I'll have to come up with something a bit better.

I've had a go with the products at home, just using my GHDs to create some volume and flicks to the lengths of my hair. I think I need a bit more practice but was pretty pleased with my first attempt. Because my hair is thick and my straighteners are wide the effect was pretty big. Perhaps I'll dabble with tongs as I get a bit better at it.

The products I used were the Take The Heat leave-in in spray and the Take The Heat cream. Both products protect the hair from heat but the second gives you a bit more oomph. The cream does feel a little sticky when you first put it through your hair, but that seems to disappear once you've styled it. My only issue was when it was a little rainy, the stickiness can come back a bit, but I think that's the same with all styling products to some level.

Added bonus: after styling my hair with the products the whole room smelled delicious. What do you think of my hair style in these pics? What else should I try? Check out Liz Taw's video guide to creating a much better version of my look above and the Uncover Aussie site will have updates from the Bonfire Night event too. Can't wait to catch up with all the gorgeous angels.
