EVENT - Buy my Wardrobe

Buy my wardrobe

Buy My Wardrobe sees big names in the fashion industry open up their wardrobes to the public for a fashion recycling event. I popped down on Saturday for the latest event to see what bargains I could find.

Each 'wardrobe mistress' had their own boutique-style space at Private members club Adam Street to display between 50 and 100 pieces from their cupboards.

Wardrobe Mistresses included Francesca Salih, Stylist for Net-a-Porter; Lou Hay, Designer at Matthew Willamson; and Sammi Brown, Great Grand-Daughter to the Marks & Spencer Empire and there were some beautiful bits and bobs for fashionista's to ogle.

Some of the fabulous fashions on offer were...
  • Wool & Alpaca special edition Burberry Double Breasted Trench; originally £975 for £450
  • Diane Von Furstenberg Chocolate Brown Wool Wrap Dress; originally £325 for £150
  • Louboutin pigalle shoes; originally £375 for £150
  • Anya Hindmarch Elrod Handbag at £200
  • Jimmy Choos for just £120!
Dandy Dolls vintage clothing and Dimasi vintage were also on hand to provide some retro, vintage delights. I saw lots of amazing designer labels and was tempted by so many things, especially an Ashley Isham dress which (luckily) wasn't in my size - although a bargain, it was still more than my bank balance could manage.

In the end I picked up a Topshop silk dress, Lynn Mackie silk jacket and my best bargain of the day - a Betty Jackson Studio jacket and the whole lot cost me £45 - not bad I reckon.
