I was as sad as anyone when I heard that Luella was going to be no more. The feminine styles always had a uniqueness in the industry and the girly blouses and pretty fabrics stood out. I also loved the accessories and I've posted about them before here and here.
Unfortunately it wasn't a brand that was really within my price range so as much as I liked it I never fell too in love with anything I saw knowing my bank balance wouldn't take the strain.
The company is now at the point of selling off old stock very, very cheap in comparison to the original selling price. I popped into the store near Bond Street last week and picked up a fabulous little oyster card holder for £18, reduced from £60. The free plastic rubbish ones that are given away always seem to tear and get grubby so I decided I needed to invest. My commute all of a sudden feels that bit more glam with this super shiny new accessory in my hand.
I've also been keeping an eye out on eBay because there are some bargains to be had and the quality is still there. It feels like a last chance to get a little piece of history. Check out the Luella website for a 'last chance' pick of the bargains.
