GIG - The Sounds at The Electric Ballroom

I've had a hugely busy week this week but it's been fun. On Tuesday, my little sister came to London to stay with me as we were off to watch The Sounds perform at Camden's Electric Ballroom. The gig was amazing as always, I've already seen them twice - once at Brixton Academy and once at Digital in Brighton.

The support acts were possibly the craziest I'd ever had at a gig, but I'm pretty sure, in a good way. The first was a band called Foxy Shazam. Never before have I seen such energy from a band and I have seen a few. At one point, lead singer Eric was crawling on the floor at super speed and his Freddie Mercury inspired moves were only outdone by the keyboardist who was entirely on his own planet, and probably had some sort of split personality disorder - see their video below and you'll get what I mean...

Next up was New York based band, Matt & Kim. My first impression of these guys was that they reminded me of Will & Grace. Not sure if that's a good thing or not, but they did have some really good beats with a really scaled down set of equipment... Kim's drum kit has about 4 pieces! See one of their videos below...

But of course, we really came to see The Sounds and they didn't disappoint. Maja was on fine form and the crowd was much better than the last 'The Sounds' gig I went to (last time it was a bunch of very angry teens). See below for some pics or you can view them all on Flickr.

I also did a little 'Get the look' of Maja's outfit. Sheer panelled leggings, a cropped jacket and layered gold necklaces. Love the look!
