EVENT - A Fabulous Night Out For Fashion
Fashion's Night Out seemed to me to be a resounding success for Vogue and for everyone else who took part. There was definitely a real buzz and plenty of shops made a big effort to get involved. Never before have I seen so many beautiful and fashionable people out at the same time...
I started with vodka and cranberry at Oasis, they had made a cute little cafe area upstairs too which was great and after that I popped into Liberty's but I think I was a bit early for the exiting stuff. Then it was along to Debenhams to check out the fashion show hosted by GMTV's Mark Heyes. At the front door of Debenhams you even got your own little crowd of Paparazzi which was a clever touch and certainly got people in off the street. I stuck around after the show to listen to Ben de Lisi talk about his new homeware range - and the sold out dog cushion that everyone seems to be after.
After that it was along to Selfridges and M&S. Selfridges is great any time, but I didn't go so much on the show at M&S as it was stuck in a tent and being the short person that I am, I couldn't see a thing. Then off to Browns Fashion to ogle the designer wares - it was super busy in here and I'm sure it was a who's who of up and coming designers... but I won't pretend I recognised them all.
After a stop off in Kurt Geiger and Luella it was off down New Bond Street and Old Bond Street. The frozen yogurt being served in DKNY Jeans was fab (in fact I feel a separate post coming on about that) and after a nose in the designer stores like Chanel, Burberry and my personal favourite Alexander McQueen (who is now on Twitter by the way) it was time to jump on the tube and take my weary feet home.
The only down side to this whole affair is that it really does remind some of us, how far away from that fashion elite we really are. It also reminded me, that my bank balance is not currently in a state to buy Alexander McQueen handbags or Luella jackets... but it sure was fun looking.
Here are more some snaps I took while out and about...
