LINGERIE - Wonderbra's Ultimate Strapless Bra

Most women have heard of a Wonderbra; in fact, most have probably tried one. When it comes to push-up bras and enhancing what nature gave us, Wonderbra has always performed. But regardless of that reputation, when I heard about the new Ultimate Strapless bra developed by Wonderbra, I was a little skeptical. In all my years of searching, I have never yet found a strapless bra that I feel fully comfortable in. In fact, I shy away from strapless tops and dresses altogether to avoid the resulting underwear dilemma. But, with an open mind I decided to put Wonderbra's latest product to the test...

Looks

The bra looks fab on the model, but does it also look good on us mere mortals? Well in short, it aint half bad. The bra is seam free and made from microfibre, intended to give a smooth line underneath clothing. Because of the structured nature of the bra, I felt it was still visible but no more than your average T-shirt bra. The uplift you get from this Wonderbra is something that no woman without surgical enhancement could possibly achieve from most strapless bras, and that is one of the biggest selling points. Available in black or nude means most wardobe needs are covered and the plunge shape is an added bonus. The simple, unfussy styling is perfect for what should be a lingerie draw 'must have'.

Support & Staying Power

The claim is that the bra stays up while jumping and dancing as well as with general wear. The design incorporates a hand-shaped structure that lifts the weight of the bust and gives support where it is needed. It also uses silicone banding which gives extra hold and keeps everything in place. I ran up and down stairs, did the hoovering, and jiggled about a bit and all claims are justified. The wide polycarbonate support underneath the cups is what makes the bra stay firmly in place and what makes it different from other brands. No underwire here! Extensive research and development showed Wonderbra that they needed something new and that is what they have created.

Comfort

The sun was shining this weekend so it was the perfect time to throw on a strapless top and test the new bra. A day of walking and driving is probably not what the bra was really designed for and I wondered whether a full day of wear might end painfully. As it turns out, walking around was not a problem at all. No movement, no slippage, no cup-runneth-over - I was contained and perfectly comfortable. Driving was not quite as comfortable though. In order to achieve the uplift and a good fit the bra does need to sit snugly. This is fine all the while you are standing up, but might be a problem if you are sat down for long periods of time. But ladies, it is a small price to pay for the impressive cleavage you get to go with it, and at least it encourages good posture.

The Verdict

If you are anything like me, and have enough up front to make strapless bra buying difficult, do not give up hope yet; give the Ultimate Strapless a chance. I have tried many different styles of strapless bra and none have ever come close to the results of Wonderbra's latest creation. Uplift and staying power from a strapless bra are hard to come by, but this one definitely manages both. Simple but incredibly effective, with the same great uplift that Wonderbra is famed for - every woman should have one. You could happily dance the night away, safe in the knowledge that wardrobe malfunctions only happen to those without Wonderbra's Ultimate Strapless Bra.

The Ultimate Strapless bra by Wonderbra is available to buy at Debenhams priced at £32 and comes in a choice of black or nude.

As a wearer of strapless bras as soon as summer hits, I too have been through lots of brands. Have ordered one from Littlewoods tonight. Hoping for "wonders"

Thanks for the review.

I am sure I submitted my post, based on your review I ordered one £2 on Littlewoods catalogue minus vat made it £31 .74. Amazed as it arrived at 10 am this morning and I ordered last night online. First impressions its looks so large, almost like a small top. But on its not as big looking. Actually made me look slightly flatter I thought but it really feels as if you are being held in and up.

There is a fair bit of support under the cups which makes it look quite big, I agree with you there. In terms of the cleavage boosting, I guess that might also depend on your size and the size you ordered. I went for a size smaller than I do in T shirt bras, as when I was measured that is what the assistant told me to do. Seemed to work for me, but we are all different :)

Hi Jenny, could you please tell me, what size you are (bra, I mean)? Strapless bras look good on smaller boobs 8) With my 28/35inches breast I usually buy 28ff or 30f bra size, 28 would be much better with strapless, but wonderbra starts from 30 8/

I opted for a 34C in this bra but usually take a 34D. I never usually get the support I need from a strapless bra but this one is different. I think you would need to try on a 30 but it may be too loose to get the full effect. Head down to a Debenhams store and ask one of their bra fit experts would be my advice.

I hope this takes off, falling visible bra straps could finally be solved. Various women often giving the excuse they have no choice as strapless bras dont do the job, well it seems this one does, finally a bra that works without straps.

This bra is amazing. I'm a 32F and so bra shopping is usually a nightmare never mind strapless - nothing gives support. However with this bra I've got boobs up to my chin!! I was so determined to prove it didnt work that I wore to for a day of housework, everything stayed exactly where it should. well recommended!!

I bought one of these for my 30th birthday party. It was under a fancy dress costume. Not the most confortable bra in the world Im afraid but it does look good. Im a 36F. It digs in my ribs underneath my boobs a little bit and I have one spot under my arms where it dos in.
Having said that it actually gives me better hold then most of my bras that have straps!

I am a 32E and have near been comfortable in any other strapless bra until this one. When I tried it on for the first time I was so amazed by the comfort and way my boobs looked that I wore it out instead of swopping it back for one of my normal bras.
It stayed in place alnight and I didn't have to tug it back in to place once like I normally have to. I also noticed that my partner liked the look aswell. I give the bra 10/10 and I look forward to wearing all the strapless items in my wardrobe in comfort rather then dread.

I love this bra and feel it does stay put as promised, it should only be worn short term! I've worn it twice all day and both times ended up with large blisters across my back where the gel strip runs :( very painful and unpleasant...

In response to the last comment... I've heard that some people can be allergic to the material used in those gel strips, probably best to get it checked out as I've never had a problem.

I have avoided strappy/strapless tops like the plague since i was a teenager and no strapless bra or indeed normal bra i have ever tried on has been able to give me the support and uplift (and fantastic cleavage) as this one!!!

I'm usually a 34ff and went for the 34 F(i think F is the largest cup size in this bra?) and it's fantastic! When my mum saw how i looked in it, she wanted one too, but didn't fit for her - awwww - poor mum!

Thank you wonderbra!!!!!

I bought a new dress today but I need to buy a strapless bra for it..being a 36E would this bra be a good buy to give support?
