BEAUTY - Debenhams Beauty Club and Pampering

Last week, Debenhams launched a new Beauty Club Reward Card enabling shoppers to collect points on their beauty purchases and earn rewards to spend in store. Being a member of the Debenhams Beauty Club is about more than collecting points though. In addition, Debenhams are making sure that you have access to expert make-up advice, hot gossip and exclusive offers. Sign up to email alerts and you will be sure to get the most out of your membership and hear about all the offers first.

23 Days of Pampering

To celebrate the launch of the new scheme, Debenhams have embarked upon '23 Days of Pampering', an event taking place at regional stores; Chester, Liverpool, Glasgow, Belfast, Dublin (Henry St) and London (Oxford St). The event includes everything from free samples and consultations, to complimentary massages and gifts with your purchase. Call or visit your nearest store to see how they are participating, and even if you can't get to one of the regional stores, there will be plenty of other events planned in future; check the events page for up to date information.

My trip to Debenhams

I popped along to the store in London this week, to see for myself what all the fuss was about. The first thing to say is that the staff in the beauty hall are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Friends have said in the past to me that they are intimidated to talk to people on beauty counters, and I have to wonder why? These people are the ones who know the products best and they can help you find a skincare regime, fragrance or make-up look that suits you. I was drawn to the YSL make-up as I featured the bright coloured cosmetics on the blog in April, but I also suggest heading to Benefit and speaking to the lovely ladies on Elemis too.

I think this beauty club is a great idea, especially with summer around the corner. Buying fake tan, firming creams, body scrubs and summer fragrances all adds up and puts a strain on the pocket, but with this reward card you are getting something back. The little perks are useful too, perfume samples are a great way to try a fragrance, but they also make an ideal purse spray for a night out.

Collecting points

Once your beauty card is activated, you will earn one point per £1 on beauty purchases under £25 or three points per £1 when you spend over £25. For every 500 points earned you will get a £5 reward to spend as part or full payment on products in the beauty hall including cosmetics, fragrance, treatments and services. Pick up your card in store and activate online to take advantage of all the benefits.
