STYLE - My Personal Style

Describe your personal style:
My style is pretty classic. I tend to keep things quite understated but always with a nod to the trends of the moment. I don't tend to go for the grungy, messy look.

What are your wardrobe staples?
Black pencil skirt, great patent heels and a spring mac. You really can't go wrong.

What inspires you?
I am inspired by fashion bloggers, especially those like me who have full-time jobs and still find time to indulge in their passion for fashion. I am an aesthete by nature, so I also find beauty and inspiration in almost anything; from a woodland walk, to a browse in IKEA, to my best friend's outfit, to celebrities on the red carpet and much more besides.

Who is your fashion muse?
I like Daisy Lowe and Alexa Chung for their interpretation of the trends. I also think Jennifer Aniston always looks polished to perfection, although she is regularly criticised for playing it too safe.

What is your favourite purchase of all time?
I helped out at a charity ball in London a couple of years ago and the table centre pieces were handmade tailor's dummies, dressed up in the most amazing costumes (see image) At the end of the evening a few were left that had not been sold so I nabbed one. I had to get the train home with it and my overnight bags, which wasn't the easiest task, but I did feel good that by buying this one-off I had helped the charity Hope for Children.

What has been your biggest splurge?
I am a bargain fashionista so splurging isn't generally in my nature. I spend more money on gadgets and electronics than I ever do on clothes!

What's your daily beauty routine?
I use face wipes instead of soap and use toner and moisturiser at night. I slather myself with firming cream whenever I remember and wear perfume to bed (it helps me get to sleep!) I try and always take a vitamin supplement every day too but the most important thing of all is drinking lots of water to keep my skin looking smooth and fresh.

What jewellery do you never take off?
I have a Tiffany bracelet that I was given for my 18th birthday which is my most worn item of jewellery. I also have some swarovski earrings that were a gift. They go with anything and are super sparkly. I do have a bit of a collection when it comes to fashion jewellery and my endless hoard of earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings takes up far more space than I have going spare.
