I am just a little bit obsessed at present with Lady GaGa. Her look is by no means new (DJ peaches, Kylie Minogue and Christina Aguilera have partaken in the eighties, barely dressed look) but there is something confident and incredibly cool about her, not to mention a figure to die for.
I am not usually a fan of anything too eighties, but being a performer, there is much more flexibility to be outlandish. There are aspects of the look that could be taken and used in a more subtle way such as the blunt fringe, poker straight hair, the retro shades and some of us could even get away with a jumpsuit... although I am, unfortunately, not one of those people.
The surreal and futuristic trend is on the rise and with Barbarella and Star Trek set to be released next year I guarantee we will all be channeling a little Lady Gaga. There even seems to be a bit of the Mighty Boosh thrown in there what with the lightening face paint. Get the look with my picks below...

Lady Gaga by The Style PA
Lady Gaga's sound is not unlike Gwen Stefani and I have instantly warmed to the catchy, electro tunes. She describes her sound as bubblegum pop, so shares the market with the likes of Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears. Her album 'The Fame' is out in January in the UK, but if you can't wait till then, get yourself on Youtube and check out some of her videos.

I clicked on the video out of curiosity and her music is quite catchy.
Gawd, I'm jealous of her poker-straight hair and curve!
I actually featured Lady Gaga on my Dramatis Personae series a few months ago!
Though she's embracing 80s style a LOT (which I love), I think she's adding this futuristic and edgy club style that some of the other icons you mentioned didn't have...
I love Lady Gaga! She has a cool look. She reminds me of a young Blondie with her fashion sense. I love her style!
