Clashing colours until fairly recently was a big no no, but at the moment it is the easiest way to make a budget outfit look like designer togs. The catwalk is full of bold clashing statements and the celebs are at it on the red carpet too.
Keep to bright, block colours. Chintzy patterns and fabrics will be far too fussy for the sleekness of this look. My favourite Flickr.com colour clasher is Irene Adler and her photos should offer plenty of inspiration for how to get clashing right. Her vintage take on clashing is more difficult to carry off but looks even more appealing.
The easiest way to work the look is with a pair of shoes in a contrasting colour to your dress. This takes very little effort and no need to make any new purchases. The perfect example of clashed colours are Christian Louboutin and Marc Jacobs heels. They use are bold colours that usually together would be too much, but it works you have to admit.
