Fringing and tassels are all fine and good if you are Pocahontas, but my guess is that not many people wandering round the UK are genuine native Indians. Dangling tassels are good for one thing... getting you stuck in closing lift doors, which isn't particularly helpful. I reckon we should ditch the fuss of fringing and swap for ladylike ruffles. Much more pleasing to my eyes.

Anyone care to disagree?

I agree with you. I'm not sure who okayed the fringe trend but I won't be a participator. The last bag looks like someone had left over carpet tassels and decided to combine them with a bag.
Fringe has been around for a long time, and I have never liked it. Coming from Texas, I've seen a lot of it in western (cowboy) wear, such as on leather jackets, etc. Fringe is a huge fashion don't. It is very hard for fringe to look chic.
